STM32 is a family of 32-bit microcontroller integrated circuits by STMicroelectronics. The STM32 is the third ARM family by STMicroelectronics. It follows their earlier STR9 family based on the ARM9E core, and STR7 family based on the ARM7TDMI core. In June 2007, ST announced the STM32 F1-series based on the ARM Cortex-M3. In October 2009, ST announced that new ARM chips would be built using the 90 nm process. In April 2010, ST announced the STM32 L1-series chips.
